A few days later, Willie and Danielle were in France. They decided to stay in a little village known for it’s wine country. Willie had planned a wonderfully romantic and quiet week in France with his new bride. The little hotel they were at was just wonderful and Danielle loved it immensely.
Eventually the subject of their ages had come up. Danielle was still very young due to her vampirism while her new husband was aging before her eyes. It started to become an obstacle for her and she would think of it more often. She didn’t want to ruin her honeymoon, though, and thought she would start the conversation of making Willie into a vampire, too.
It was hard for her to accept but she was going to make the best of it for Willie. She had to respect his decision to stay mortal. She thought she would just find some way to handle her emotions. But the thought of outliving your friends and lovers haunted her. However, they were in France now and he was very alive and in love.
Oh, better let them have some privacy!
The following night Willie took her to a nice dinner at a local bistro. The evenings in France were so nice – the air was warm and fragrant of the blooms and a different side of the village seemed to come alive after dusk. It took some getting used to being romantically involved again, especially as an adult vampire who didn’t need to eat.
They strolled down the street, people watching as others passed them, admiring the wonderful scenery all around them.
Of course she did.
They were having so much fun but they hadn’t taken a trip to the nectary yet. Danielle was very excited to see it. She wondered about mixing different fruit with her plasma fruit to have a different taste than the usual fruit.
After a tour of the vineyard and the nectary facilities, they were able to sample different varieties of nectar in the basement. Danielle loved the flavor of the grapes in France and thought they would taste great if she blended them with the plasma fruit. Willie was just happy to be with her knowing that she was happy.
No trip to a nectary or vineyard would be complete without buying any kind of souvenir. Danielle was amazed at the varieties they had on the shelves – there were so many choices to choose from! Money wasn’t a real concern, but she didn’t want to waste any on something that they didn’t like.
Willie was such a gentleman and he was going to make sure that his wife had the best of the best! He had one more trick up his sleeve for her, too. A new club had just opened in the village, a nectar bar and club. A small restaurant with the local nectar plus a small dance floor – a wonderful end to a wonderful honeymoon!
They were a hit on the dance floor, too. Danielle got the party started, but poor Willie had a hard time keeping up with her lively moves. It seemed he was feeling the pains of old age – in his back and his knees – already.
Luckily, a table had opened up. Danielle grabbed it while Willie ordered some food.
They were able to try out the patio room before the night ended.
The trip was a wonderful success and fun for both of them. They were able to fall in love with each other even more through the intimate stay in France.
Danielle and Willie would be heading for home – back to Dallas, Ella and Elizabeth. What new paths will their lives lead now that they are finally together? Only time will tell….
